Content design

I write content that puts user needs first. I’m a champion for plain English, and aim to make content accessible to everyone regardless of technology or ability.

I love using testing and data to take an evidence-based approach. It’s a process that always throws up surprises, and helps us better understand the people we’re creating content for.

Content design projects have included

  • Co-lead for a charity website redevelopment project. Working in an agile environment. Using UX to shape navigation and content. Rewriting content to improve accessibility.

  • Digital content lead and content designer for a charity’s mental health microsite, a parenting advice microsite.

  • Digital content lead and content designer for university website restructure project.

  • Reworking complex guidance in Gov.uk style for the Environment Agency and the Insolvency Agency.

  • Taking a plain English approach to content for the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts.
